For decades, the medical community told parents not to introduce dairy before one year of age, eggs before two and nuts or seafood before three. Parents followed these rules and many still do today.  However, over the last several years, two landmark studies have turned the allergy world upside down providing us evidence that early introduction of common food allergies are actually the answer to preventing them. Pediatric Allergy and Immunology specialist, Dr. David Stukus explains what parents need to know to prevent, treat and manage food allergy in their children.  Also, as an Immunologist, Dr. Dave answers a couple of COVID-19 questions.

This episode covers:

-Boosting the immune system to protect against COVID-19 infection

-COVID-19 vaccine

-Basic information about food allergy

-Signs and symptoms of food allergy

-How to diagnose food allergy

-Prevention of food allergy

-Management

-Treatment of food allergy

-When to see an Allergist

Thanks, Dr. David R. Stukus!
