In the US, there are nearly 700K children in the foster care system. Being a child in foster care is an adverse childhood experience or source of childhood trauma. Children in the foster care system are at risk for poor mental, physical and behavioral outcomes; but evidence has shown us how important just one caring adult can be to reach their full potential.

My guest, child advocate, Mr. Josh Shipp joins us to share his story of overcoming the adversity of parental abandonment and the foster care system. He also shares his wealth of “teen whisperer” wisdom.
