Ep. 50: Dating Violence

According to the CDC, in the 2013 National Youth Behavior Survey, 10% of high school students reported physical victimization and 10% reported sexual victimization from a dating partner in the twelve months before they were surveyed. That’s recent trauma affecting our teens! Therefore, Dr. Candice discusses the particulars of dating violence with Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Relationship Trauma Expert and Psychotherapist, Ms. Janie Lacy.

This episode covers:

-Definition of dating violence or IPV(intimate partner violence)
-Characteristics of a healthy relationship
-Adolescents at risk for dating violence
-Short and long term effects of IPV
-Advice for teens and parents dealing with dating abuse

Thank You, Ms. Janie Lacy!
