Hematologist, Dr. Leila Jerome Clay explains how this reputation has improved with advances in sickle cell research, management and awareness. She encourages us to support Sickle Cell Awareness Month every September through advocacy, monetary and blood donation to continue to move the needle towards better treatments and cure.
