Childhood cancer is the most common cause of death by disease in the U.S. It affects nearly 15,780 children from birth to 19 years of age. According to Pediatric Oncologist and Physician Scientist, Dr. Gregory Aune, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September is necessary to highlight the need for devoted funding to research and improvement of treatments for pediatric cancer and to advocate for policy changes that support these efforts.
