For many people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD, the medication – Adderall has been an integral part of managing their condition. However, on October 12, 2022 the FDA announced a nationwide shortage which unfortunately continues to present day. This leaves many families with children who were once stable and flourishing on Adderall, scratching their heads about what to do.

My guest, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and international ADHD expert, Dr. Ann Childress shares various ways to manage ADHD during the Adderall shortage. She encourages parents to create a plan for success in managing ADHD.

We discuss:

  • Why there is a shortage of Adderall
  • When the shortage is likely to end
  • Alternative medications available for treatment of ADHD
  • What parents should do if Adderall is currently unavailable for their child
  • Effective strategies for caregivers in managing children with ADHD

Thank you, Dr. Ann Childress!
